Actors Training Academy

The MUR Strategic Actors Academy is second to none.  Students of all levels who attend our training academy will gain valuable knowledge and experience that will provide them with a better understanding of their character which will assist them in bringing a character to life on screen.  Our training philosophy is to equip students with skills that will allow them to have a comprehensive understanding of the full subject matter. This allows them to have a full understanding of the “why” that is associated with the tactics, techniques, and procedures in each field of study.

Our instructor staff is comprised of active duty and former military special operations forces personnel, law enforcement (SWAT, detectives, K9, Narcotics, etc), paramedics, doctors, and other various public safety career fields.  Our experienced instructors understand the importance of how things need to look in real life, as well as how they need to look on camera to convey the role as authentically as possible.

Students who attend the Actors Academy, are provided with wardrobe, weapons, and other related props and training aids to make the training as realistic as possible.  Some of our training programs are physically demanding and require a level of physical fitness.

Actors who successfully complete our training programs will receive a diploma from MUR Strategic and continuing education credit from the University of South Carolina for select courses.  We have trained principal actors from productions such as Homeland, Banshee, and Hannibal.
